S.L. 65.21 Art. 48Conditions of normal residence.

For the purposes of this Part the conditions of normal residence need not be satisfied by persons carrying out fixed-term assignments in Malta and residing in Malta for that purpose. In such a case -

(a) drivers shall produce proof of their place of normal residence by any appropriate means, such as any legally valid identification document;

(b) where the Authority, having issued the driver card, has reason to doubt the validity of a statement as to normal residence made in accordance with paragraph (a), or requires to exercise specific controls within its duties, it may request any additional information or evidence thereof;

(c) when issuing a driver card the Authority shall, as far as possible, ensure that the applicant does not already hold a valid driver card.

49. he driver shall enter in the recording equipment the symbols of the countries in which he begins and ends his daily work period. This data shall be entered by the driver, either manually or automatically if the recording equipment is linked to a satellite tracking system.
