The Heads and Director General shall be appointed by the

Prime Minister for a period of three years which may be renewed for a further period or periods, after a call for applications under article 92 of the Constitution of Malta, and under such terms, conditions, functions and responsibilities as may be stated in the respective letter of appointment.
