Cap. 16 Art. 1796Donations of present and future property.

A donation in contemplation of a certain and determinate marriage, in favour of the future spouses or of one of them, or of their children, may be made of both present and future property, either wholly or in part, provided a description of the property and of the debts and burdens of the donor existing at the time of the donation, is annexed to the deed of donation; in which case the donee shall be at liberty, at the time of the death of the donor, to retain for himself the property existing at the time of the donation, subject to the obligation of discharging only the debts and burdens existing at such time, renouncing his right to the remainder of the property of the donor.
