Cap. 16 Art. 1443Duties of party exercising right of redemption.

The party exercising the right of redemption is bound to return to the party against whom such right is exercised the price of the sale giving rise to the exercise of such right, and any other lawful expense incurred by the buyer in connection with such sale, as well as all necessary and useful expenses made on the thing either by the buyer or by any other possessor, even though for any cause whatsoever for which neither the party against whom the said right is exercised nor any other former possessor is responsible, the effect of such expenses no longer exists.
