Cap. 16 Art. 940Each heir is bound ratably with respect to creditors.
Sub-title III
(1) In all cases, with respect to the creditors, each of the heirs shall be personally liable for the debts of the inheritance, in proportion to his share.
(2) Nevertheless, where any one of the co-heirs possesses property charged with a hypothec in security of the debt, he shall, with regard to such property, be liable for the whole, ex hypotheca saving his right of relief against the other co-heirs.
