Cap. 16 Art. 557Possessor in bad faith answerable for damage caused to thing.
Sub-title III
A possessor in bad faith shall also be liable for all damage which may have been occasioned by his own act as well as for that occasioned by a fortuitous event unless, whatever the manner in which he may have obtained possession of the thing, he shows that the thing would have equally perished or deteriorated if it had been in the possession of the owner.
