(1) If the absentee reappears, or if his existence is established, the effects of the provisional possession, or of the authority to exercise the right mentioned in article 211, shall cease, and the court shall give the necessary directions for the preservation and administration of his property.

(2) The possessors of the property, and such persons as may have obtained any payment by reason of the exercise of any right depending upon the death of the absentee, shall be bound to restore the same together with the fruits, as provided in sub-article (2) of article 218.
