Cap. 16 Art. 1963Duration of obligation of surety.

The surety who has limited his obligation to the same term which was granted to the principal debtor shall continue to be bound even beyond that term, for all the time which may be necessary to compel the debtor to effect payment, provided the creditor, within two months from the expiration of such term, commences proceedings and prosecutes them with due diligence.
