Cap. 16 Art. 1937When several persons have becomesuretiesfor the same debtor.
Title II of Book Third of the Code of Organization and Civil
(1) When several persons have become sureties for the same debtor and the same debt, each one shall be liable for the whole debt.
(2) Nevertheless, each one of them may, unless he has renounced the benefit of division, or unless he has bound himself jointly and severally with the debtor, demand that the creditor should divide his action and reduce it to the share due by each surety.
