Where a party who is charged with the management is himself a separate creditor, in a sum fallen due, of a person who also owes to the partnership a sum likewise, fallen due, any payment received by such partner from the debtor shall be appropriated to the debt due to the partnership and to the debt due to himself, in proportion to the two debts, even though in giving receipt he had appropriated the payment entirely to his own private debt.
