Cap. 16 Art. 1145How obligations are extinguished.
Sub-title V
Saving the effects of the resolutive condition, and those of prescription, obligations are extinguished by -
(a) payment;
(b) novation;
(c) remission of the debt;
(d) set-off;
(e) merger;
(f) the loss of the thing;
(g) rescission.
