Cap. 16 Art. 1139Damages payable where obligation consists in the payment of a sum of money.

Saving any other provision of law relating to suretyship or partnership, where the subject-matter of the obligation is limited to the payment of a determinate sum, the damages arising from the delay in the performance thereof shall only consist in the interests on the sum due at the rate of eight per cent per annum.
