The definition of "close season" and the provisions regulating the wild rabbit in the Protection of Birds and Wild

Rabbit Regulations (revoked by these regulations) are hereby saved:

Provided that, with the exception of regulation 2B(6), (7)

and (8) of the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit Regulations, where in any provision regulating the wild rabbit in the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit Regulations, there is a reference to the Ornis Committee, any such reference shall be construed as a reference to the Wild Birds Regulation Unit: Provided also that notwithstanding its repeal -

(a) anything that has lawfully been done by virtue of the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit Regulations shall remain in force, except insofar as it is inconsistent with any of the provisions of these regulations;

(b) any liability to any penalty under any of the provisions of the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit Regulations shall continue to subsist notwithstanding the repeal of the said regulations.
