The Council for Nurses and Midwives may exempt male pupil nurses from gaining clinical nursing experience in -

general medical nursing of females; general surgical nursing of females; maternity care and gynaecological nursing care; geriatric or long stay chronic sick nursing of female psychiatric or mentally handicapped patients.
