S.L. 449.12 Art. 4Composition.

(1) Corned beef shall contain uncured beef and curing ingredients consisting of salt (sodium chloride) and sodium or potassium nitrite.

(2) Corned beef may also contain sucrose, invert sugar, dextrose (glucose), lactose, maltose, glucose syrup (including corn syrup).

(3) The total protein content in the final product shall not be less than 21% m/m.

(4) Corned beef shall conform with the standards laid down in the Schedule as regards additives.
