In accordance with European Commission rules and in accordance with the procedure laid down in article 22 of the

Animal Welfare Act, the certificates or accompanying documents provided for by veterinary regulations for the transport of the animals referred to in regulation 1, may be supplemented by an attestation from the competent authority within the meaning of Article 2(6) of European Union Council Directive 90/425/EEC certifying that the requirements of these regulations or corresponding legislation in a trading partner have been complied with.
