(1) Full-time students may not engage in employment which is likely to interfere with the progress of their research and must seek the permission of Senate, on the recommendation of the Faculty Doctoral Committee, the Board and the Doctoral Academic Committee before engaging in any employment; the Faculty Doctoral Committee must be kept informed about the nature and extent of their employment commitments throughout their period of study.

(2) The Senate, acting on the advice of the Principal Supervisor and the Faculty Doctoral Committee, and on the recommendation of the Board and the Doctoral Academic Committee, may terminate the students’ studies or change the students’ status from full-time to part-time should the students’ employment be seen to interfere with the expected progress of the research or can prejudice the students’ studies.
