S.L. 549.68 ст. 2Applicability.

(1) These regulations shall apply to the geological storage of CO in Malta and on the continental shelf within the meaning of 2 the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (Unclos).

(2) These regulations shall not apply to geological storage of CO2 with a total intended storage below 100 kilotonnes, undertaken for research, development or testing of new products and processes.

(3) The storage of CO in a storage site with a storage complex 2 extending beyond the area referred to in sub-regulation (1) shall be prohibited.

(4) The storage of CO in the water column shall be prohibited. 2
