Without prejudice to the requirements laid down in the provisions of Directive 2008/48/EC as transposed in the Consumer

Credit Regulations, a credit institution may, upon the consumer’s request, provide an overdraft facility in relation to a payment account with basic features:

Provided that, access to, or use of, the payment account with basic features shall not be restricted by, or made conditional on, the purchase of such an overdraft facility.
