Where instructions are given for the buying or selling of stocks, bills of exchange and other current securities or of goods having an exchange or market value, the commission merchant, unless the principal otherwise directs, may himself furnish at the current price, as seller, the things he has to buy, or hold for himself at the current price, as buyer, the things he has to sell on account of the principal, saving his right to commission.
