Cap. 13 Art. 461Deck-cargo.

(1) Goods carried on deck shall contribute, if saved; if they are jettisoned, or damaged by the jettison, no claim for contribution can be made by the owner thereof, who shall, however, have a right of recourse against the master, where the latter is liable according to law.

(2) The provisions of this article shall not apply in the case of voyages between Malta and Sicily, or between Malta and Tripoli or Tunis, or in the case of goods which it is customary to carry on deck.
