Cap. 13 Art. 183In what money bill is payable.

A bill of exchange must be paid in the money specified therein. Nevertheless, if the money specified in the bill is fictitious or is not legal tender in the place where payment is to be made, and the value thereof has not been stated in the bill, the payment shall be made in the money which is legal tender at the place of payment, in an amount corresponding to the value of the money specified in the bill at the time of maturity, unless the drawer, by the use of the clause "in cash" or other equivalent clause, shall have expressly required payment to be made in the money specified by him, not being fictitious money.
