S.L. 639.3 Art. 3National Register of Traditional Agro-food Products of Malta.

(1) The Director shall keep a register, to be called the

National Register of Traditional Agro-food Products of Malta, in which there shall be registered all approved products.

(2) The inclusion of a product in the above mentioned Register of approved products shall not constitute a registration in terms of

Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs.

(3) The name of any product in the Register shall be without prejudice to the name chosen for the purpose of registration of a product in terms of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs.

(4) Starting from the date of the coming into force of these * regulations and without prejudice to Regulation (EU) No 1151/ 2012 on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs, the inclusion of a name in the Register shall preclude any person from lodging an application for protection of that name under EU and national laws concerning intellectual and industrial property.
