(1) Where an employee of the competent authority becomes aware that any of the provisions of these regulations have been, are being, or are about to be infringed in any way whatsoever, such employee shall be able to report such infringement directly to the Data Protection Officer of that competent authority. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE PREVENTION, INVESTIGATION, DETECTION OR PROSECUTION OF CRIMINAL OFFENCES OR THE 586.08 EXECUTION OF CRIMINAL PENALTIES

(2) Where a report is made under sub-regulation (1), unless otherwise directed by the reporting employee himself, the Data Protection Officer shall take every reasonable step to ensure that the identity of such employee is not disclosed or be discovered in any way.

(3) The provisions of sub-regulations (1) and (2) shall apply mutatis mutandis where such complaint is lodged with the Commissioner.
