S.L. 552.28 Art. 3Advertisements.

(1) No advertisement shall be displayed in any place which is visible from the road, and no advertising vehicle may be placed on the road or on a place which is visible from the road, without the permission of the Authority given under these regulations and Schedules I and II, unless such an advertisement falls within the provisions of regulation 4.

(2) The holders of any permissions, licences or other authorisations permitting the display of billboards not falling under regulation 4 shall be obliged to apply with Transport Malta in order to obtain a licence from the said Transport Malta for which the yearly fee established in Schedule I shall apply, unless the billboard is located on the precinct of a sports facility, the income generated from the display of the billboard accrues to the registered club managing the sports facility and the billboard has no political content.

(3) An appeal from any notice issued in terms of article 97 of the Act relating to a billboard or an application for the permission of the Authority for the display of a billboard, shall not suspend the operation of the said notice.
