S.L. 549.165 Art. 10Corrective measures to safeguard groundwater resources.

Where the Authority determines that a borehole drilled or that excavation works which are carried out partly or totally within the saturated zone have a significant impact on a body of groundwater or other source or sources of groundwater, the Authority may:

(a) order the immediate cessation of such activity and water extraction or the reduction in the amount of water being extracted;

(b) order the closure of such borehole or cessation of such works.
