S.L. 549.144 Art. 4Hunting conditions.

(1) The overall bag limit for the Autumn Hunting

Season for Turtle Dove shall be 500.

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 1(a) of Schedule IV of the Wild Birds Regulations, any Turtle Dove hunted during September shall be reported immediately through the telephonic game reporting system or through the game reporting mobile app.

(3) The Autumn Hunting Season for Turtle Dove may be terminated prior to the 30th September of each year if the quota established in sub-regulation (1) has been reached.

(4) In the event that the quota has been reached, the Minister shall order, by notice in the Gazette or any other notice, that the Autumn Hunting Season for Turtle Dove is to terminate immediately. All licensees shall be informed immediately of such termination by means of a short message service (SMS) to the number registered with the Wild Birds Regulation Unit and no further hunting of Turtle Dove may be permitted therefrom.
