S.L. 549.124 Art. 7Monitoring Air Pollution Impacts. 

(1) The competent authority shall ensure the monitoring of the negative impacts of air pollution on ecosystems based on a network of monitoring sites representative of freshwater, natural and semi-natural habitats and forest ecosystem types, taking a cost-effective and risk-based approach. The competent authority shall coordinate this program with other monitoring programmes established under the Flora, Fauna and Natural Habitats Protection

Regulations, the Ambient Air Quality Regulations, and the Water

Policy Framework Regulations, and if appropriate, the LRTAP

Convention. The competent authority may, where appropriate, make use of data collected under those monitoring programmes.

(2) The optional monitoring indicators in the Fourth Schedule may be used in order to satisfy the requirements in sub-regulation (1).

(3) The competent authority shall forward to the European Environment Agency and the European Commission the following information:

(a) the location of the monitoring sites and associated indicators used to monitor for air pollution impacts by 1st July 2018 and every four years thereafter; and

(b) the monitoring data in sub-regulation (1) by 1st July 2019 and every four years thereafter.
