S.L. 545.9 Art. 1Citation and scope.

(1) The title of these regulations is the Maintenance of Minimum Stocks of Crude Oil and, or Petroleum Products Regulations.

(2) The scope of these regulations is to transpose Directive 2009/119/EC imposing an obligation on Member States to maintain minimum stocks of crude oil and, or petroleum products.

(3) These regulations provide rules aimed at ensuring a high level of security of oil supply through reliable and transparent mechanisms based on solidarity amongst Member States, maintaining minimum stocks of crude oil and, or petroleum products and putting in place the necessary procedural means to deal with a serious shortage.
