(1) The designating of renewables acceleration areas referred to in regulation 34(1), shall include public participation in accordance with regulation 7 of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Regulations, including identifying the public affected or likely to be affected.

(2) The public acceptance of renewable energy projects shall be promoted by means of direct and indirect participation of local communities in those projects.
