S.L. 465.10 Art. 27Duration of detention.

The detention of a ship by a customs officer under these regulations shall cease as soon as the ship has been inspected by the medical officer or, if such inspection has not commenced within twelve hours after the ship has been detained, on the expiration of that period: Provided that nothing in this regulation shall affect the power of the medical officer to continue the detention of a ship under regulation 28.
