(1) The title of these rules is the Hygiene of Foodstuffs

Rules.

(2) The scope of these rules is to implement the provisions found under European Union Council Directive 93/43/EEC regarding the hygiene of foodstuffs, hereinafter referred to as "the Directive".

(3) These rules aim at laying down the general rules of hygiene for foodstuffs and the procedures for verification of compliance with these rules.
