S.L. 437.120 Art. 2Interpretation. Cap. 437.

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:

"Act" means the Veterinary Services Act;

"competent authority" means the Department as defined in article 2 of the Act;

''Department'' shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in the Act;

"Director" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in the Act;

"Regulation (EU) 2016/429" means Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health ("Animal Health Law"), as in force from time to time;

Provided that in these rules and as applicable according to the case, it shall also include all the delegated or implementing acts as adopted by the European Union according to Regulation (EU) 2016/429.

(2) Unless the context otherwise requires, words and phrases used in these rules which are not defined herein, shall have the same meaning as assigned to them in Article 4 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/429 and article 2 of the Act.
