S.L. 411.1 Art. 3Functions and duties.

Civil Protection personnel shall be employed on such duties as to afford protection of the population against the effects of any form of natural or man-made disaster or emergency necessitating co-ordinated measures and services by central and local government in conjunction with other competent agencies and non-governmental organisations with the aim of saving lives and property, reducing casualties, maintaining essential services and supplies, and in general organising such protective measures, training and education as are deemed necessary and possibly to prevent the occurrence of such disasters.
