S.L. 371.9 Art. 14Deferred payment.

(1) The Scheme may defer the payment of compensation beyond the time period set out in regulation 13 where:

(a) the deposit is a not active account;

(b) the amount to be repaid is deemed to be part of a temporary high balance; or

(c) the amount to be repaid is to be paid out by the DGS of a host Member State in accordance with regulation 35(1).

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-regulation (1), the Scheme shall not pay compensation in respect of a deposit which is a dormant account where the value of the deposit is lower than the administrative costs that would be incurred by the Scheme in making such a repayment.

(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-regulation (1), the Scheme may suspend any payment referring to any account in respect of which a depositor or any person entitled to or interested in sums held therein has been charged with an offence arising out of or in relation to money laundering, pending the judgment of the court.
