In these Bye-Laws, unless the context otherwise requires:

"Act" means the Local Government Act;

"Council" means the Għarb Local Council;

"designated areas" means those areas designated by the competent authorities for the placement of tables and chairs exclusively for the consumption of food and beverages;

"glass container" includes glass bottles, glasses and or any other glass container intended for the serving of food and beverages;

"locality" means the locality of Għarb as delineated in the Second Schedule to the Act;

"public space" means the streets, squares, belvederes, open space and gardens within the Għarb locality excluding designated areas.
