In these Bye-Laws, unless the context otherwise requires:

"Act" means the Local Government Act;

"containers of alcoholic beverages" includes bottles, glasses, cans, and any other container intended intended for the serving of any beverages;

"Council" means the San Pawl il-Baħar Local Council;

"locality" means the locality of San Pawl il-Baħar as shown in the Second Schedule to the Act;

"mentioned spaces" covers those spaces mentioned by the competent authorities to occupy with tables and chairs to serve and consume food and beverages;

"public space" means the streets, pavements, open spaces, squares, gardens, shores and promenade within the locality but excluding non-urban open spaces which are not in the vicinity of residential areas.
