S.L. 327.669 Art. 62Language of Dissertation.

(1) Dissertations for all Postgraduate Awards shall be written in English, except that when the Area of Study of the Dissertation is a language, the Board may require or permit the student to write the Dissertation in that language.

(2) However, following approval by Senate, a Board may allow particular students, for just and sufficient reasons, to write their Dissertation in any other language, provided that the Board has ascertained, to the satisfaction of Senate, that the University has the necessary expertise to supervise and examine the work. In such cases, students shall be required to include an extended summary of the Dissertation (approximately 2000 words) written in English.
