(1)The Board may recommend to Senate the number of students that shall be allowed to register for the full-time Course, depending on the availability of resources. The Board shall announce the number of available places at the time of the call for applications.

(2) When the number of applicants that may be admitted to the full-time Course is limited in terms of paragraph (1) of this bye-law, and the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of places available, the Board shall make an initial ranking according to the following criteria, the weighting of which shall be published at the time of the call for applications:

(a) academic qualifications; and

(b) experience in the field of Physical Education and Sport.

(3) Candidates who fall within the limited number plus the next 25% (of the limited number of students) shall be called in for an interview. The final ranking shall be made on the totalling of the scores acquired in the initial ranking plus the mark acquired for the interview.

(4) The interviewing board appointed by the Board for the purpose, shall be composed of at least 3 members.

(5) For the purpose of selection, applicants whose qualifications were obtained by 31 August preceding the commencement of the Course shall be considered first. If vacant places are still available, applicants who obtain all necessary qualifications after the 31 August and before the 30 September shall be considered to take up the remaining places.
