The Midalja g]all-Qlubija takes the form of a silver medal

40mm in diameter. The obverse depicts in relief the Emblem of Malta superimposed on a representation of the rays of the sun. The reverse contains in relief, and surrounded by a wreath, a geographical representation of the Maltese Islands below which is the inscription "G]all-Qlubija", all superimposed on a representation of the rays of the sun. The whole is suspended from a scroll-like bar carrying in relief the year of institution "1975". The medal is suspended from a riband 32mm in width being half red and half white, having a moire effect. When worn by a lady the riband is fashioned into a bow with tails.
