S.L. 234.17 Art. 3Qualification as an officer.

A person is qualified as an officer for the purposes of article 90(1) of the Act if such person holds a certificate of competence issued or recognised and endorsed in terms of these regulations in one of the following capacities:

Master Chief mate Officer in charge of a navigational watch Chief engineer officer

Second engineer officer Officer in charge of an engineering watch Electro technical officer,

Radio operator.
