(1) Unless otherwise expressly provided for in any other applicable law, personal data entered into the Entry Exit System in Malta shall also be recorded in relevant national files and systems in terms of Article 40 of the EES Regulation.

(2) Personal data recorded in national files and systems in accordance with sub-regulation (1) shall be retained for the periods established under Article 34 of the EES Regulation.
