Cap. 439 Art. 44Power to make regulationsrelating to officials.

(1) The Minister may make regulations to provide for and to regulate the duties and powers of officials, hereinafter referred to as "animal welfare officers".

(2) Without prejudice to the provisions of sub-article (1), every member of the Malta Police Force and any local community officer shall, by virtue of his office, be deemed to be an animal welfare officer appointed to act generally for the purposes of this Act.

(3) Animal welfare officers shall act under the direction of the Director for Animal Welfare in the exercise and performance of their powers, duties, and functions conferred or imposed upon them under this Act.
