Cap. 403 Art. 50Contributions to the Protection and Compensation Fund.

(1) The Protection and Compensation Fund shall comprise of different funds as may be prescribed by the Insurance Business

(Protection and Compensation Fund) Regulations, of all contributions made thereto in accordance with this Act and any regulations made thereunder, and of all other assets and revenues pertaining to it. The assets of every fund shall be kept separate and separately identifiable from the assets of the other Funds, as may be prescribed in the said regulations.

(2) All insurance undertakings, as prescribed by the regulations, which carry on business of insurance in Malta shall contribute to the Protection and Compensation Fund in such amounts and to such limitations as shall be prescribed and different amounts and limitations may be prescribed with respect to different kinds of business of insurance or different classes or part classes thereof, or different kinds of insurance undertakings, or in view of other different circumstances.

(3) Insurance undertakings which carry on motor vehicle liability insurance business from Malta, as may prescribed by the Insurance Business (Protection and Compensation Fund) Regulations, shall contribute to the Protection and Compensation Fund in such amounts and to such limitations, as may be prescribed by the Insurance Business (Protection and Compensation Fund) Regulations, and different amounts and limitations may so apply as may be prescribed in the said regulations.
