Cap. 252 Art. 5Public holidays.

(1) Sundays and the days listed in the Schedule shall be public holidays.

(2) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this article, the Prime Minister may by notice in the Gazette -

(a) order any day to be observed as a public holiday in addition to other public holidays;

(b) order that any day listed in the Schedule shall not be observed as a public holiday.

(3) The Prime Minister may also, by order in the Gazette, amend the Schedule.

(4) On public holidays, all Government offices shall be closed: Provided that the Prime Minister may direct that one or more Government offices shall be kept open on any public holiday specified in the direction.
