Cap. 13 Art. 195Part-payment.

(1) The holder of a bill cannot refuse to receive from the drawee part-payment thereof, even though the bill may have been accepted by the drawee himself, or by any other party, for the whole amount, but the holder must protest it for the balance.

(2) The party making such part-payment cannot, however, claim that the bill be delivered up to him, but can only demand that the amount paid be endorsed upon the bill, and that a copy of the bill with the discharge of the amount paid, be given to him.
