Professional development activities may include taught study-units, the writing and publishing of academic papers, presentation at conferences, training sessions approved by the Professional Development Committee and organised by the Doctoral School, other training sessions that complement the students’ doctoral studies and their professional career as doctoral graduates, as well as attendance at Faculty seminars, workshops and conferences, study visits, and similar, according to a study plan drawn up by the students in consultation with the Principal Supervisor. Students commencing their studies as from 1 February 2023 are expected to complete professional development activities for a total of around 100 hours, including a compulsory training workshop covering research ethics and integrity.
